The first purpose of the local church is exalting God.
God created us for His glory.
Isaiah 43:7, …everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory,
whom I formed and made.
Therefore, we should live for His glory.
1 Corinthians 10:31, So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
The worship of God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit is both public and personal. Paul told the Roman believers that this act of worship was daily and not an additional supplement. Gospel-centered worship begins with our heart and mind. The way in which we become more like Christ (Romans 8:29-30) is by reading, meditating, memorizing, delighting and obeying the Word of God. Paul said in Romans 12:1-2, I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Publicly, we worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00am.
Personally, we are to worship God every moment of our lives.
